Posture

Posture and It's Connection to Illness

Posture is associated with all chronic conditions. Most diseases develop over time. Many begin in childhood. Arthritis and joint problems are two common examples. Respiratory conditions and loss of balance and coordination are largely caused by abnormal posture. Not surprisingly, poor posture is the most common cause of chronic back pain.

Your posture directly affects how well your nervous system works. Poor posture strains and compresses the joints and muscles, which interferes with your Central Nervous System. Your nervous system is the way your body communicates with itself to keep you healthy. With poor posture, your body loses its ability to function properly. Imagine reading complicated instructions with every other sentence either blacked out or written backwards. Do you think you could still build a computer and have all of the programs run correctly? This is similar to what your nervous system experiences when you have poor posture.
